You may already know that Armstrong has an ongoing initiative called Breaking Bread, designed to help feed the hungry in the communities that we serve.  But did you know what a variety of opportunities you have to make a donation?

Armstrong local offices always accept donations.  You can find a shopping cart inside the lobbies waiting to be filled with non-perishable items.  You can also make a donation at any Armstrong event.  Simply tell the Armstrong representative that you brought an item for Breaking Bread, and we will get it to a food bank for you.  Give when and what you can. Breaking Bread: Volunteering

By now, we hope you are aware of Armstrong’s Breaking Bread campaign to help feed the hungry. Each of our local and corporate offices are always accepting monetary donations, as well as food and other needed items. These donations are in turn donated to local food pantries in our service areas.

However, Breaking Bread is so much more than just collecting donations. It is about getting the word out about the need for food that so many face; bringing attention to the hunger in our communities.

Think Outside the Can …of Green Beans

Green beans are great. They are a vegetable, full of nutrition, and most of us have them sitting around in our kitchen cupboard. A donation of a can of green beans to the local food bank is well, Fantastic! However, there is so much more that is needed. (Would you like to eat green beans everyday?)

Armstrong and Breaking Bread

Armstrong has a long standing history of being involved in the community.  That tradition still continues and I’ll bet that you can think of a few ways that Armstrong gets involved where you live.  A couple of years ago we decided to focus on a specific need that affects all of our communities, hunger.  That is when we developed the Breaking Bread program.  Breaking Bread is Armstrong’s ongoing initiative to feed the hungry in the communities that we serve.
