Give What You Can… and Enjoy Some Perks

You may already know that Armstrong has an ongoing initiative called Breaking Bread, designed to help feed the hungry in the communities that we serve. But did you know what a variety of opportunities you have to make a donation?

Armstrong local offices always accept donations. You can find a shopping cart inside the lobbies waiting to be filled with non-perishable items. You can also make a donation at any Armstrong event. Simply tell the Armstrong representative that you brought an item for Breaking Bread, and we will get it to a food bank for you. Give when and what you can. [Read more...]

Breaking Bread: Volunteering

By now, we hope you are aware of Armstrong’s Breaking Bread campaign to help feed the hungry. Each of our local and corporate offices are always accepting monetary donations, as well as food and other needed items. These donations are in turn donated to local food pantries in our service areas.

However, Breaking Bread is so much more than just collecting donations. It is about getting the word out about the need for food that so many face; bringing attention to the hunger in our communities.

Lucky Day!

Friday the 13th. The day that is credited as being bad luck. Couple that with a horror movie franchise numbering in the double digits and you have a day that gets a pretty bad rap.

Personally, 13 is my lucky number. I was born on the 13th of the month and always seem to find myself finding good luck with the number. No matter what your lucky number is, put it to good use. Armstrong’s MySavings program has a quarterly sweepstakes that offers two chances to win a $250 gift card.

Think Outside the Can …of Green Beans

When I Was Your Age…

Growing up in the 80′s there weren’t that many technological things that we had to worry about as a kid. Once you figured out how to rewind the unwound cassette tape with a pencil and blow the dust out of the Nintendo games to get them to work, you were pretty much set.

Today’s kids are more advanced technologically than ever before. The more exposure and access our kids have to technology, the more chance there is for them to wander into questionable territory. Armstrong has a tool for parents to help keep kids safe when in comes to Television, Telephone and Internet. A couple of years ago we decided to focus on a specific need that affects all of our communities, hunger. That is when we developed the Breaking Bread program.
